On January 3rd, you’re invited and encouraged (even more so than usual) to share what you’re reading on social media using the hashtag #ReadersUnite. The New York Public Library is promoting this “social media movement to highlight the power of reading and readers as we start the new year. Reading builds knowledge, understanding and empathy across the spectrum of readers.”

Libraries and other book-related organizations across the nation are encouraging their followers to post their current reads to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more using the hashtag #ReadersUnite. The NYPL and other participating organizations will be sharing and signal-boosting selected posts during the promotion.

So go tell the world what you’re reading, then check out the #ReadersUnite hashtag and get some awesome book recs from your fellow readers.

Head to your next book club or board meeting in literary style! Buy any tote, get a notebook free.
