Google Adds Harry Potter Spell Commands to Android Phones: Critical Linking, November 2, 2016

For those of you who grew up with Harry Potter, your childhood dream of being a witch or wizard just got a lot closer. We may not live in J.K. Rowling’s magical universe, but technology from Google is bringing us the next best thing–the ability to cast spells using an Android phone.

Google adds three voice commands based on Harry Potter spells! Nice. 


The civil rights activist who provoked anger, mockery and confusion last year after her white parents revealed she had posed as a black woman for years has unveiled a memoir that claims to explore “the discrimination she’s suffered while living as a black woman”.

I honestly can’t think of a memoir the world needs less, nor of one I’ve actively wanted to tank very, very hard.


Scribd announced Tuesday that it’s adding magazines to its reading subscription service, which costs $7.99 a month and also includes ebooks, audiobooks, and other documents…

The continued evolution of literary subscription services…well…continues.
