Cool Bookish Places: The Penguin Bookshop in Toronto

Penguin Canada opened a bookshop! And it’s really pretty.

“Part bookstore, part literary experience,” the Penguin Bookshop is full of all the charming orange mugs/notebooks/tote bags your bookish heart could want.

Penguin makes the prettiest books, (I really love the Drop Caps. And also this copy of Les Miserables,) and it’s kind of great to see a whole bunch of them all together in one shop.

The store is reportedly run by Penguin Random House Canada staff – from editors to designers – and features book recommendations from Canadian authors as well as staff recs.

It just opened this summer, and they’ve already had their first author visit, from Book Riot favorite Margaret Atwood.
