Always books. Never boring.

The Fall season is upon us, and while it’s my favorite time of year, there’s so much more to this grand season than pumpkin spice lattes. The trees are swaying while changing into beautiful shades of red and orange. The weather is cooling down to make the air crisp and refreshing, even in Florida! Right now the weather is not too hot or too cold– it’s just right. One of the things that make fall my favorite season is the fact that it’s perfect reading weather. Here are 5 reasons why fall is a binge reading paradise:

Coffee is the perfect drink for this time of year. Coffee is also the perfect drink to read with. Sure you can drink hot coffee on a hot afternoon, but it wouldn’t be your first choice right? Non-morning related coffee drinking starts during the fall season because it’s the perfect drink to keep yourself warm and alert. Being alert and warm are both awesome things to be when you’re reading a spooky fall read.

Plush blankets are the perfect reading accessory. Even though the weather is just getting cool, fall weather is ideal for snuggling up under a blanket and reading. Whether snuggling up in your bed or on the couch with a plush blanket, it’s another wonderful reading accessory to keep you warm and focused on your read.

You can read almost anywhere. One of the things I love the most about fall is the fact that you can read almost anywhere. Sure the mornings are cold, but the afternoons often warm up making for perfect reading weather anytime or anyplace. What reader doesn’t love sitting outside on a park bench and reading while surrounded by beautiful fall colored leaves. My patio is completely enclosed and located on the second floor where it sits surrounded by multiple trees. Nothing makes the stress melt away more than reading on my patio surrounded by swaying trees and a cool breeze…under a plush blanket, of course.

It’s also cooking season. Halloween treats, Thanksgiving meals, and Christmas cookies are just a couple of the delicious things being cooked during the fall season. I don’t know if you snack every now and then while you read, but I sure do. Nothing goes better with a book and coffee than a scrumptious piece of fudge brownie or chocolate cookie. You don’t have to over eat during the holiday season– eating treats in moderation is never a bad thing. I always ask my mother to make me her unforgettable peanut butter fudge cake this time of year and I slowly eat off of it during several binge readings.

You can binge read anytime of the year, but there’s just something about binge reading during the fall that feels comfortable and decadent. Do you feel as if you don’t have time to binge read? With everyday life being so busy that’s completely understandable. Try to carve out a couple of hours to sit and read on your day off or before bed instead of watching your favorite television shows. It might feel like you’re missing out at first, but you’ll thank me later. Binge reading is the perfect time to catch up on your TBR list and fall is an ideal time to get it done.
