Critical Linking for June 16th, 2015

While we don’t advocate your running out and switching jobs based on this result, a personalized reading guide can’t hurt. So in the spirit of summer reading — and summer self-inquiry — we offer a novel that we think would suit each MBTI result.

I can’t vouch for the scientific rigor of this post offering a reading suggestion for every Myers-Briggs personality type, I can say that what it picked for me (White Noise) is one of my favorite books.

If someone had told me three months ago that the hundreds of thousands of books I saw sitting unused and going to waste in the basement of Philadelphia School District headquarters would by now be almost fully catalogued, ready to be shipped to the kids who need them, I probably wouldn’t have believed it. I might have even laughed.

Huge effort by a volunteer corps to get hundreds of thousands of books out of purgatory.

We’re always looking at ways to make our programs even better, and we’ve received lots of great feedback on how to improve the way we pay KDP authors for books in Kindle Unlimited. One particular piece of feedback we’ve heard consistently from authors is that paying the same for all books regardless of length may not provide a strong enough alignment between the interests of authors and readers. We agree. With this in mind, we’re pleased to announce that beginning on July 1, the KDP Select Global Fund will be paid out based on the number of pages KU and KOLL customers read.

So Kindle Unlimited authors will be paid by number of pages read. Could by the word be far behind?
