Inbox/Outbox: March 20, 2015

In Inbox/Outbox, we document the rhythm of readers’ lives by sharing comics we acquired, the comics we finished, and the next comics we plan to read each week.

Inbox (Comics Acquired)

archie-vs-predatorArchie vs. Predator #1 by Alex de Campi, Fernando Ruiz, and Rich Koslowski (Archie/Dark Horse, April 15)

I mean, how can I NOT want to read this comic?

Howard the Duck #1 by Chip Zdarsky and Joe Quinones (Marvel)

Normally, this wouldn’t interest me, but Chip Zdarsky doing Howard the Duck? That I had to see. Also, I’ve heard really great things about it.

Outbox (Comics Finished)

alex-ada-vol-2Alex + Ada Vols. 1 & 2 by Jonathan Luna and Sarah Vaughn (Image Comics)

I usually don’t list repeats in Inbox/Outbox (meaning if I say something’s up next, I don’t talk about reading it a week later, even if I did read it), but can we talk about Alex + Ada? And how I DEVOURED these two volumes, only to discover, that very day, that Image had announced the last issue is going to be this May? I’ve heard the series was planned as a limited run BUT STILL.

X-Men #13-17 by Brian Wood and Clay Mann (Marvel)

I had a little trouble jumping into this series with the #1 issue, but I stuck with it because I liked the relationship dynamics, and happily, it’s gotten more interesting.

In the Queue (What I’m Reading Next)

krishna-journey-withinKrishna: The Journey Within by Abhishek Singh (Image Comics)

I’ve been tweeting the art from this comic just because it is so incredibly stunning. I’m looking forward to settling down with it.

This One Summer by Jillian Tamaki and Mariko Tamaki (First Second)

This has been on my list for awhile, but considering Paul and Preeti just did a podcast episode about it, you can bet I’m clamoring to read this before I listen to them talk about it.

How about you? What comics did you read this week?
