What’s On Your Pull List? February 18, 2015

Ali Colluccio enjoys comics, cocktails, and curling. She lives in Brooklyn with her adorably blind kitten, Minerva, and tweets with reckless abandon at @WonderAli.

Every week, a different Panelteer will give you a rundown of the comics they’re most looking forward to for the week. Floppies, trades and omniboo are all fair game here. This week, Ali tells us what’s on her pull list.

This is such a good week of comics; lots and lots of awesome books. And lots, as I noticed pulling my list together, of awesome ladies in those books. So here’s what I got.

She-Hulk #12 by Charles Soule and Javier Pulido (Marvel Comics)

SheHulk12

I am very sad to see this final issue of She-Hulk. This run has been wonderful and different and thoroughly enjoyable. The mysterious case of the Blue File comes to a close with this issue. That’s right, this creative team made a story about a legal file that should have stayed lost an exciting plot thread throughout the story–that’s how great this comic is!! I’ll take my time getting to this last issue because I’m not ready for the book to end.

Bitch Planet #3 by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Robert Wilson (Image Comics)

BitchPlanet3

This latest issue of Bitch Planet is a spotlight on fan-favorite NC, Penny Rolle. The team announced a bit ago that every third issue will be a flashback focusing on the inmates of Bitch Planet, and I’m really excited about that kind of format. I’m even more excited to see how the indomitable Penny Rolle managed to get taken down by The Man.

Ms. Marvel #12 by G. Willow Wilson and Elmo Bondoc (Marvel Comics)

MsMarvel12

I don’t think it’s possible to read the comic without grinning like an idiot. It brings me so much joy whenever I pick it up. And this week’s issue is a Valentine’s special featuring everyone’s favorite trickster god Loki. There’s also a Valentine’s Day Dance involved, so I’m hoping for some awkward teenage shenanigans.

Batgirl #37 Cameron Stewart, Brendan Fletcher, and Babs Tarr (DC Comics)
Batgirl37

Oh, Babs. Burnside is not happy with you. But I still love you and your awesome costume. It’s possible that part of the reason I read this comic is for the costume. But the main reason is Babs Tarr’s incredibly energetic artwork. Also, this could be my favorite cover of the week.

Lazarus #15 by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark (Image Comics)
Lazarus15

Espionage/action is one of my favorite genres. Movies, TV, books, comics; if there are kick-ass spies, I am on board. And my favorite storyteller when it comes spy stuff is Greg Rucka. Lazarus has more of a speculative fiction/political drama angle to it, but the Lazarus operatives scratch my spy itch so very well.

The Kitchen #4 by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle (DC Comics)
Kitchen4

You know what else I love? Tough broads. And this comic has three of ’em. This issue starts the next act in the story of three mob wives who take over their husbands’ business while they’re in jail. But it’s time for the boys to come home and I don’t think these ladies are going to take kindly to going back in the kitchen.

Questions!

1. What comics are you purchasing this Wednesday?
2. If you could have any one superpower (it can’t be combined with anything) what would you pick?
