Who Are Your Favorite Writers of Color?

In a recent post, the folks at Lee & Low Books called renewed attention to the persistent issue of diversity (or rather, the lack thereof) on the New York Times bestsellers list. Of 124 authors who made the top 10 in 2012, only 3 were people of color, and none were African American. These numbers are appalling and unjustifiable. So we here at the Riot are making a concerted effort to read and cover more books by people of color, and we want to hear from you. Who are your favorite writers of color?

Share your favorites in the survey below by the end of the day this Sunday, January 12th, and we’ll publish the results next week.
