There’s nothing quite like finding a cozy spot to read, and with the Cave Bookshelf, that cozy spot is right there among your book collection. Designer Sakura Adachi got the inspiration for this reading nook by watching pigeons find little pockets of protection in open, exposed spaces. The project started as a thesis project and since Adachi had to make each one by hand, they were expensive, running more than $10,000. She’s since found a manufacturer, and the price has come down to around $5,000 (and a bit lower for the kids model). But hey, when you are building your dream library, what’s five grand?
(And there’s one for your pets, though good luck getting them to stay in there).
