In between meetings at Book Expo a few weeks ago, Rioter in Chief Jeff accompanied me to the autographing area/author cattle pens so I could meet (and by meet, I mean blabber incoherently at) Naomi Wolf and pick up a copy of her forthcoming book Vagina: A New Biography. When I emerged victorious, Vagina in hand, Jeff said something like, “Naomi Wolf writing a book called Vagina is basically Rebecca kryptonite, isn’t it?”

He couldn’t have been more right, and since then, I’ve been thinking about other author-subject pairings before which I would be totally powerless. Like, if Chuck Klosterman wrote an analysis/critique of Dawson’s Creek, or Jessica Valenti and Jennifer Baumgardner teamed up to write about the emerging fourth wave of feminism, or John Irving wrote a memoir called Bears. Or, or, or. The possibilities are myriad.

Tell me, dear readers, what are your dream author-subject pairings?
