Time now for the answer to our special mid-week Name That Author! But first a recap of the clues:

1. An English scientific organization issued me a letter of apology for their sexism….100 years after the fact.

2. Unable to find a publisher for my first book myself, I sent it, with my own illustrations to family and friends. One of those friends eventually sent it to a publishers. And now, a century later, young children all over the world still read my books.

3. I had many childhood pets and spent many hours learning to draw them.

4. Perhaps unsurprisingly, two of my favorite childhood books were Alice in Wonderland and Brer Rabbit
