Bookish Wedding Planning :: The Invitations

I’m not getting married anytime soon, but I do love a girly geek-out every now and then over beautiful weddings. Being in my early 30’s, I’ve been to (and in) my fair share of weddings… so if I’m cynical about the mundane, you’ll have to forgive me. At this point, I highly appreciate the weddings that are creative and incredibly personal. Should I get married someday, I envision it as a small, extremely personal affair; my goal will be to create an intimate world, for a night, that reflects me and my husband-to-be. Truth be told, I love the Jessica Claire wedding Invitations (from below) so much that I may just marry myself as an excuse to use them (especially because myself & I would have nary a disagreement about the decorating and such)!

Though this wedding of mine (to myself OR to a future husband) is not in the works – I do have a highly creative friend (already married) who cannot help but find the most magnificent items on the web, in stores, or at events. She tends to send them my way (rightly knowing that I will do a friend-bonding squeal and possibly even use them someday). This time, it was a bookish wedding invitation (the first one, by Empress Stationary) that inspired me to do what I have no business doing… plan a bookish wedding! And since there is no budget, being that there is no wedding, I get to choose several of everything! I must say — this just may be the very perfect (non) wedding that ever was. So, whether you’re planning a wedding, or just enjoy creativity and bookish delights; I’m just getting started. I’m going to plan the whole shebang; and where better to start than the beginning — The Invitations.
